An American woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, has been admitted to the psychiatric ward at Jinnah Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan, after traveling to the city in search of her husband. Hospital officials confirmed that Robinson, who is African-American, is under special care at the psychiatric department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Security Measures and Medical Assessments
To ensure Robinson’s safety, security personnel from both JPMC and Sindh Police have been deployed at the hospital. JPMC spokesperson Jehangir Durani shared that Robinson underwent an MRI scan, and further psychiatric tests and assessments are being carried out.
Durani added that the final evaluation of her mental health will be based on the results of these tests. Medical professionals continue to monitor her condition closely.

According to Express News, Robinson, an African-American woman, traveled to Pakistan in October 2024 after falling in love with a 19-year-old man from Karachi. She has since been in the country, claiming to be married to the man, with their marriage having taken place online. Her search for her husband led to her current hospitalization.
